One-command setup

Two scripts from the crazyrouter-hermes repo: a lightweight configurator for existing installs and a full installer that also brings up Hermes on a fresh Linux box.

What the script does
  • setup.sh: Hermes is already installed — writes OPENAI_API_KEY, OPENAI_BASE_URL and the default model
  • setup-full.sh: fresh server — checks the OS, installs dependencies and Hermes first
  • Optionally sends a test request to confirm the key and endpoint

Scripts are fetched from the public GitHub repo linked below. Read them before piping to a shell if that's your policy; the download-then-run form is in the README.

https://api.crazyrouter.com/v1 — Hermes is OpenAI-compatible, so the /v1 suffix is required.

claude-sonnet-4-6 balances tool-use quality and cost; deepseek-v4-pro or kimi-k3 when you want a cheaper long-context option.

Can I run it on Windows?

The repo ships a setup.bat; Hermes itself is primarily tested on Linux and macOS.
