Codevolve Integrations: MindTap, LTI, and What You Can Verify Today

Codevolve integrations documented in the sources reviewed here connect its browser-based coding environment with education platforms: Cengage’s MindTap and an LTI workflow for sending student grades and submitted code to a learning management system. These are historical product records, not a verified catalog of working connectors in October 2026. We found no documentation establishing a native Codevolve-to-Crazyrouter integration. If you need to launch an existing course or recover submissions, identify the institution’s actual course platform before looking for an AI API key.

What did the Codevolve and MindTap integration do?#

A Cengage announcement dated February 24, 2016 described embedding Codevolve’s coding environment inside MindTap. It named five planned courses covering Python, Java, and C++. Students could write and run code in a browser without installing a local development environment.

The announcement also described hints and feedback, while MindTap supplied grading, analytics, and learning-platform features. That helps explain the integration’s purpose: it placed programming practice within a course experience. It does not establish that the old product exposes a public developer API today.

For an instructor, the first useful question is which course edition and institution account owns the assignment. A historical partnership announcement cannot tell you whether a current textbook, course license, or campus configuration includes the same lab.

What does the Codevolve LTI record establish?#

The Next Tech changelog entry titled “Codevolve LTI now supports file contents” says its integration was expanded to send a student’s code along with the grade. It explains that instructors could review the submitted code inside the LMS, and students could view it alongside the assignment grade.

The entry makes that display conditional on the LMS being configured to show assignment submissions. It does not identify an LTI version, provide a current installation procedure, or verify compatibility with every learning platform. Do not infer a complete Canvas, Moodle, or Blackboard connector list from the general term LTI.

How should you verify an existing course integration?#

Start with a course identifier, assignment title, and the URL you use to open the lab. Ask the course administrator which vendor currently operates the coding environment and which support channel covers it. Names in older help pages may differ from the service behind an institution’s present license.

Use a test student account to check the whole workflow: launch the lab, edit a file, submit the assignment, inspect the grade, and confirm that submitted code appears where expected. Compare the student and instructor views. If a grade arrives but the code is absent, investigate submission-display settings before treating the issue as a failed code upload.

Keep a redacted record of timestamps and errors. Avoid exporting student records to unrelated services while troubleshooting; the course platform and institution determine which data transfers are approved.

Can you add an AI API to a Codevolve workflow?#

An API gateway is a separate layer from a course connector. It can supply model responses to software you control, but it does not automatically create course launches, grade passback, or student submissions. Those behaviors require supported platform interfaces and permission to modify the workflow.

If your actual goal is AI-assisted coding in a separate development tool, review the integration directory and the model pricing overview. Those pages describe a different integration problem. No API sample is included here because we could not verify a public Codevolve API or a supported connection to that gateway.

FAQ#

Does Codevolve integrate with MindTap?#

A 2016 Cengage announcement documents that partnership and its embedded coding labs. Confirm current availability for your exact course with the institution or course provider.

Can Codevolve send code as well as grades to an LMS?#

The historical LTI changelog describes that behavior when the LMS displays assignment submissions. It does not prove that your current deployment supports the same configuration.

Is there an official Codevolve integration with Crazyrouter?#

We found no source establishing one in this review. For an existing course, use the course provider’s support path; for a separate AI application, verify its own supported interfaces before purchasing access.
